Mr. Miyagi's Little Trees
Karate Kid Part III : Mr. Miyagi's Little Trees
Synopsis:
R-rated sequel set after the events of Karate Kid Part II.
Daniel and Miyagi both return home to Los Angeles and Daniel decides to make Miyagi's dreams come true. Daniel spends his whole college fund on opening a store for Miyagi called "Mr. Miyagi's Little Trees" in South Central LA.
Meanwhile, Kreese (the cobra kai sensei from part I) has been down and out since the defeat of the Cobra Kai at the All Valley Tournament. Kreese visits the Cobra Kai Dojo owner, Terry Silver (International Drug Runner, Arms Dealer, & Kung Fu Master). Kreese returns the keys from the dojo to Terry. Terry sends Kreese to Tahiti to run his brothel, and to plan Daniel's demise. Terry tells Kreese that the "punk kid" Daniel and the "slope" Miyagi will pay for what they did to Kreese. Terry has an elaborate plan that will get Daniel addicted to crack (like all the former Cobra Kais), and then Daniel will end up begging for drugs.
While in South Central LA Daniel meets Mike Barnes (former Cobra Kai Student, Karate Badboy, and coke dealer), Snake, and Dennis. Mike Barnes introduces Daniel to the whole underworld of crack cocaine & high priced hookers. Daniel discovers that he is not the only one hanging out in the coke dens of LA, he finds former Cobra Kai's Johnny, Tommy, Bobby, Dutch, and the crew are there too. Still devastated by their loss and being kicked off the team they turned to drugs.
During one of Daniel's drug induced hazes, a letter arrives from Kumiko (Kumiko's dancing dreams have went sour instead of getting that great dancing job in Tokyo she is sent to a brothel in Tahiti).
Daniel decides he needs to save Kumiko and needs cash fast, so he decides to become a mule for Terry Silver, Mike Barnes, & the mexican drug cartel. Daniel decides to steal the drugs and sell them for a ton of cash. Mike Barnes & Terry Silver in retaliation gun down Miyagi.
Now, Daniel must avenge the death of Miyagi. He teams up with a coked up Johnny and the former Cobra Kais. They fly to Okinawa and train with Sato in ninja and weapon training.
Word gets back to Mike Barnes & Terry Silver, that Daniel has teamed with the former Cobra Kais and is on his way to Tahiti to break out Kumiko (unknown to Terry Silver that he has Daniel's Japanese girlfriend working in his brothel!).
When Daniel arrives in Tahiti to break out Kumiko. Daniel is suprised to see Kreese, Terry Silver, & Mike Barnes. Then the action begins: huge fight sequences, explosions, machine gun fights, some cool montages as Daniel and the former cobra kais defend their honor, rescue Kumiko, & avenge Miyagi's death.....
I wish this was the sequel that was made, but it isn't. Well enjoy the review of the third movie in the Holy Trilogy... Next week a new 80's film review.
